Saturday saw us travel to Chipping Norton for our return fixture.  The weather was nice and warm with white fluffy clouds and just a slight breeze, perfect for bowling.  That's where the good news ends as, unfortunately we were comprehensively beaten 57-110.  The green was lightning fast and they were able to master these conditions much better than us.

Rink 1  -  Lead  -  Yvonne Twomey
               No. 2  -  John Timms
               Skip    -  Chris Twomey

Chris's rink struggled throughout and, although they won 8 of the 18 ends, could not score high enough when they did and conceded  heavily when they lost which unfortunately meant the final score was 11-24.

Rink 2  -  Lead  -  Tina Timms
               No. 2  -  Dave Drinkwater
               Skip    -  Bryan Ogilvie

A very tight game throughout with both teams winning 9 ends each, but the we picked up a 5 and a 6 on two of these ends which resulted in a win 19-16.

Rink 3  -  Lead  -  Tony Bird
               No. 2  -  Pete Griffin
               Skip    -  Chris Skidmore

Chris's rink found themselves up against strong competition and could not master the conditions as well as the opposition and soon found themselves 10-1 down after 8 ends.  Things did not get much better and they eventually went down 5-20.

Rink 4  -  Lead  -  Richard Lawrence
               No. 2  -  Mick Wilkins
               Skip    -  Dave Bryant

Another very tight game and, after 12 ends the scores were level 10-10, but unfortunately the opposition won 4 of the remaining 6 ends to come out on top with the final result being a loss 12-16.

Rink 5  -  Lead  -  Kath Buckingham
               No. 2  -  Terri Gold
               Skip    -  Howard Buckingham

This was a tough ask for Howard's rink, coming up against some league opposition and, although they won 7 ends the opposition scored heavily when they won an end which resulted in a loss 10-34.

Although we lost convincingly it was an enjoyable afternoon and we can say that, as we beat them at Adderbury, we can call it a 'draw'!  A big thank you to Jill, who played for the opposition and, as usual whenever we loan players they tend to play extremely well and Jill was no exception.
