With a bit of cajoling we managed to bring the start time forward to 18.00 and completed the agreed 16 ends. Initially it was a warm evening, if a little breezy, and most of us found the green, I use that word loosely, challenging. Thanks must be extended to Finlay and Jasper for coming into the squad at short notice and they shared the role
After the home leg we were 20 points down and last night's result did little to improve this as it was a double draw with our winning two rinks and tying the score at 61 all.
Rink 1
Sandra Shallis, Paul Jones, Tony Bird and Bryan Ogilvie got off to slow start but a 5 and two 4s saw them run out comfortable winners with nine ends to their credit and a score of 22 - 11.
Rink 2
Steve Clarke, Chris Shallis, Phil French and Nigel Eley were well in control also taking nine ends and two 4s and a three saw them home by 10 points 20 - 10.
Rink 3
Yvonne Twomey, Richard Lawrence, Mick Wilkins and Chris Twomey struggled and despite picking up a five trailed in 11 - 18.
Rink 4
Jill Hart, Finlay and Jasper Jelfs, Mick Jelfs and Ted Eley found the going tough and could only manage six ends to return a score of 8 - 22.
In all fairness rinks 1 & 2 had the best of the "green" with 3 & 4 having to endure the effects of a lack of watering.
This means that the Burma Star Cup has a new home for 2025 and will be presented to them later in the year.
